Drongo Nature Sounds Library is a privately managed archive of recordings mainly of the sounds of the birds and other animals of Sri Lanka in their natural habitats and the sounds of its natural landscapes. It was begun with the objective of building up a collection of the bird sounds of Sri Lanka recorded by its founder. The library archives field recordings by its recordists, possesses its own studio, and publishes high-quality compilations of its material in various forms for educational and recreational purposes. The first institution of its kind in the country, it was established in 1997 by Sri Lankan ornithologist and nature sound recordist Deepal Warakagoda, who has managed it since then.
